The Castle on the Hill
To get to Ba Na Hills you need to hire a private car, taxi, or take a shuttle bus to the Ba Na Hills cable car station.
Adress: Thôn An Sơn, Hòa Vang, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam
If you take a bus out of Da Nang, you’ll eventually spot it: a castle perched high in the hills, watching over the coastline like a theme park monarch. From a distance it whispers “medieval fortress,” but don’t be fooled — this isn’t history, it’s pure theater. Ba Na Hills is a 100% theme park, wrapped in mist and mountains.
The adventure starts with a cable car ride, the kind where you half expect a dragon to swoop by. Up top? Gardens that are small but beautiful (the kind of place Instagram loves more than botanists do). And of course, the famous bridge in the giant hands — bigger, bolder, and somehow stranger in real life than in the photos.
Conquering the Castle
Inside, it’s rides galore. Kids and adults get their share, though don’t come expecting a roller coaster that’ll rattle your bones. Think more bumper cars and gentle thrills than adrenaline overdoses. We hopped on the auto scooters and a few other rides — fun, harmless, not scary in the slightest.
And then there’s the food. Outside, little stalls tempt you. Inside, the main building hides a buffet hall so enormous it could feed an army (or at least a busload of hungry tourists).
Were we theme park people? Not really. Did we have fun? Absolutely. Between the views over the valley, the whimsical architecture, and a few hours of silly rides, Ba Na Hills gave us half a day of pure, easy fun — and we left with full stomachs and a story or two to tell.
